Laminins (LMs) are important structural proteins of the extracellular matrix (ECM). The abundance every LM isoform is tissue-dependent, suggesting that has tissue-specific roles. binds growth factors (GFs), which powerful cytokines widely used in tissue engineering due to their ability control stem cell differentiation. Currently, most commonly ECM mimetic material vitro Matrigel, a undefined composition containing and various GFs, but subjected batch variability lacking physicochemical properties. Inspired by new completely defined hydrogel platform based on hybrid LM-poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) hydrogels with controllable stiffness (1–25 kPa) degradability proposed. Different isoforms bind efficiently display GFs (here, bone morphogenetic protein (BMP-2) beta-nerve factor (?-NGF)), enabling solid-phase presentation at ultralow doses specifically target range tissues. potential this trigger differentiation toward osteogenic lineages stimulate neural cells 3D, demonstrated. These enable synthetic, composition, reproducible culture microenvironments reflecting complexity native ECM, where combination yield full diversity cellular processes.
